Open to the public (though mainly targetted for people working in organisations) we offer tele-conference learning modules (Interactive Webinars) with optional online support material. "Lean" has been around for 30 years, yet very few organisations in the West have really gained the expected results. Why? We will explore 5 areas why lean often fails or does not deliver best results:

  • Focus on technology rather than on people
  • Piecemeal introduction, poor integration
  • Counterproductive feedback systems
  • Short-termism, poor strategy implementation
  • Insufficient management commitment to lean

You will share some workplace experience with others related to lean failings, learn at least one key point or skill. The module is for those who are possibly wondering why they are not achieving what they were hoping for from lean, or who want to be aware of the potential problems and pitfalls when implementing lean.

For every 100 business books on strategy, 98 are about strategy creation and what constitutes good strategy, yet only 2 are on strategy implementation or deployment. Most organisations pay lip service to implementation, and the consequences of implementation in the process of strategy creation itself. Is it any wonder then that most strategies and policies do not work out so well? We will consider various reasons why this might be the case:

  • Poor alignment down and across the organisation
  • Internal sabbotage by not consulting all involved
  • Counterproductive feedback systems
  • Not properly thought through and not iterative either
  • Insufficient commitment across the organisation

You will share some workplace experience with others related to strategy failings, learn at least one key point or skill. The module is for those who are possibly wondering why they are not achieving what they were hoping for from their strategies, or who want to be aware of the potential problems and pitfalls when deploying a strategy.

But is this really so? Do we really need more heroes, more of the same? Or wouldn't it be better to consider how we all together, collectively, could organise and lead ourselves. We will explore options:

  • How to harness collective or collaborative wisdom

  • Alternative approaches to leadership
  • Alternative approaches to followship

You will share some workplace experience with others related to leadership, learn at least one key point or skill. The module is for those who are thinking our current leadership crisis and what can be done.

 


FOR GROUPS

FACE TO FACE LEARNING:
The interactive webinars are open to the general working public. For specific organisations, companies, practice groups, interest communities study circles or other established bodies we also offer on location face to face learning workshops (from 1/2 day to 5 days) at your or external premises. These can be a combination of any of the modules, or we will design a course to your specific needs.

SIMULATIONS:
Whole-body learning using simulations. We run simulations designed to either increase awareness of issues, elicit ways of handling specific situations or to practice specific skills. We also tailor-design simulations for specific client needs.

GUIDED GEMBA WALKS
Following the principle of 'go see, ask why and show respect' we accompany leaders of organisations to where the work is actually done and through a guided approach explore operational bottlenecks, practice genuine listening to the workforce and generally establish major areas where improvements can be made.

OPEN ADOPTIONS

We facilitate Open Adoption meetings (e.g. Open Agile Adoptions) using Open Space to invite participants in an organisation undergoing a majore transformation, adoptation or other system change to work how to implement the adoption or change. For this we work with agile or lean coaches, scrum masters and change consultants to help them achieve their aims.
